Hi! Welcome to my website. Feel free to have a look around, read some stuff. I’ve collected a few of my published short stories right here – others can be read in my collection of flash fiction Smiling Exercises.
A few words about me. Originally from Manchester, I now live in the beautiful village of Holloway, North London, pretty much next to the prison, with my wife, daughter, and Boddington the dog. Outside of writing, I work as a data security consultant, advising global corporations on how to protect their data from cyber threats. I’m fascinated by the idea that you can be attacked by anyone in the world, from anywhere, at any time; someone you’ve never met in person can reach into your life and mess things around. It’s chilling stuff, and through my work I know how easy it is to do. In fact, my new novel The Life Ruiner, deals with just these things. A brief summary, and the opening chapters, can be read right here.
What else? I’m also an editor at the fantastic Forge Literary Magazine – so if you’re a short story writer, either fiction or non-fiction, please take a look. We’re a paying market, so send us something great! I’m around on Twitter and Facebook as well, where you can see a picture of me gazing lovingly at hairy son number one, so feel free to say hi.
